Spine surgery is what we do. Dr. Ray is an expert in cervical and lumbar total disc replacement, minimally invasive surgery on the neck and back, and complex reconstruction of prior surgeries. We take pride in thoroughly discussing your surgical and nonsurgical options before agreeing on a plan, getting your surgery done in a safe and efficient manner, and being available for you post-operatively. We do surgery in Alliance, Lexington, and Fort Collins.

We leverage state-of-the-art telemedicine technology to provide easy access for patients who live in rural areas, have busy schedules, or simply have a hard time with travel because of their medical conditions. Depending on your location, your health plan may pay for these visits, but we also make them affordable for all individuals wanting to discuss surgery, stem cells, or other non-operative options.
Dr. Ray has been using stem cells for spinal fusions and regenerative medicine for over two decades. We encourage patients to be extremely cautious when investing in stem cells as they are expensive, generally unregulated and often overutilized.

Dr. Ray has extensive experience in complex reconstructions of difficult spinal conditions often involving prior surgery. He has a passion for minimally invasive surgery and total disc replacements, with a focus on getting you up and feeling better as soon as possible. Prior to becoming a spine surgeon, Dr. Ray was an engineer with degrees from MIT and Stanford. He approaches every surgery with an engineering mindset. He sees himself as a consultant, carpenter, and physician.
Whether you are in our office or taking advantage of a telemedicine visit, we take the time to carefully review your x-rays, MRIs and CT scans with you and answer your questions regarding surgery, stem cells, injections, or any other treatments. If you are in the office, we sit down together in front of a large screen television to review your images. We accomplish the same thing online using your computer screen. If you are considering surgery elsewhere, we are happy to review that plan with you whether you are shopping for another surgeon or not. If you have questions regarding procedures performed elsewhere, we are happy to review your current condition and options.
Our most important partnership is the one we have with our patients. In addition, we have excellent relationships with providers and hospitals in Nebraska (Box Butte General and Lexington Regional) and in northern Colorado (Poudre Valley, Medical Center of the Rockies, Banner Fort Collins, and Banner Surgery Center.) We provide both surgical and nonsurgical treatments and are happy to refer you to other providers when that is in your interest. We enjoy helping our patients return to healthy, active, happy lives. We counsel you regarding your choices and listen carefully prior to making recommendations.
